Why do we call it Evan's Eleven?
When delivering the eulogy for my amazing son, I thought about what I wanted people to leave with that could bring some goodness from such a tradegy. I thought about our life together and the lessons we had learned from one another. My son was known for always standing up for others and received awards at school regularly for being fair. He was the prince of fairness. He was kind and thoughtful and always made sure that others were okay. He always had laughter and jokes and his smile lit up the entire room. He was always available for a hug and kiss to make us feel better or to just tell us how much he loved us. Our world was so full of love. I realized that I wanted others to live like we had and give joy the way that he did. Out of that came Evan's Eleven. Eleven rules we lived our lives by, things that he did everyday to make the world a better place. I am grateful to be able to pass them onto you.
During race day make sure you share a peace sign in your pics. That's what Evan would always do. And don't forget to tag us at #evanseleven
